It’s official - applications for the Forman S. Acton Foundation’s Acorn Fund college savings accounts are open again! Click HERE to get started.
Funded by the Forman S. Acton Foundation, the Acorn Fund is used to create and fund college savings accounts for every child living or attending public school in Salem City. Since it was created, nearly 900 children have signed up for Acorn Fund accounts.
Over the past year, we redesigned our Acorn Fund application to make it easier to sign up for an Acorn Fund College Savings Account, apply for a Graduation Bonus, or request Acorn Fund distributions to your college or university, once the time comes. The new website also makes the process easier for parents or guardians to apply for an Acorn Fund account for more than one child.
Eligible high school graduates have until June 30 of the year they graduate to apply for an Acorn Fund College Savings Account, after which they are no longer eligible. That means anyone graduating this spring has until the end of this month to apply in order to set up an Acorn Fund account.
Additionally, anyone who is not a 2019 high school graduate but wishes to receive their annual account deposit for the 2018-19 school year, must also apply by June 30. Those who apply in July or later will miss out on getting this year's deposit.

All children from birth through 12th grade who live in Salem City, NJ are eligible. Additionally, all children from birth through 12th grade who attend public school in Salem City, NJ are eligible.
Children living outside of Salem City but attending public school in Salem City are eligible to apply if they are CURRENTLY attending public school in Salem City. If not currently attending school in Salem City, you may apply after your child begins attending school in Salem.
