Kortney Swanson Davis, Esq.

PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Attorney Kortney Swanson Davis, a scholar, leader and activist, has worked collaboratively over the past several years to promote the well being of children, families and communities.

Kortney received her JD from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School and her BBA with a concentration in finance from Howard University. Her guiding principles include the beliefs that every person has the inherent capacity to learn, and that the learning environment must set the stage for fostering growth and productivity in all students.

She chose a career path in the legal field so that she would have a direct impact on ensuring that all persons are uniquely valued regardless of preparation, background, opportunity, financial viability and cultural differences. When not practicing law, she volunteers her time as a tutor and mentor to children, along with acting as a guardian ad litem.

Kortney currently resides in South Jersey with her husband and daughter. She spends her free time volunteering and traveling.

Kimberly Smith, MBA

SCHOLARSHIP DIRECTOR

Kimberly Smith was appointed the Foundation’s Scholarship Director in July 2021, having joined the organization in 2018 as its Finance/Administrative Manager. In her new role, she is responsible for managing all aspects of the Foundation’s cornerstone scholarship program, including the yearly application, interview and selection processes. She is also tasked with mentoring the many Forman Scholars who benefit from the organization’s support each year, as well as remaining in contact with those Scholars who have since graduated from college and are now living productive and fulfilling lives.

Kimberly has built her career successfully advocating for and championing the needs of young people, particularly those of low-income and minority communities. To maximize the impact of her current work with Salem’s students, she draws upon her vast experience providing higher education resources, assistance with career path planning, financial loan and grant information, and coaching and development opportunities. Her compassion and enthusiasm for the youth of Salem motivate her to continue assisting and inspiring each of them to strive for academic, personal and professional excellence.

A native of New Jersey, Kimberly holds an undergraduate degree in communications with a concentration in psychology from Kean University, in addition to an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

Jasmin McMillon

ACORN FUND ENROLLMENT MANAGER

Jasmin joined the Forman Acton Foundation as its Acorn Fund Enrollment Manager in October 2021, responsible for the day-to-day management of the Foundation’s signature college savings account program. She arrives at the Foundation following stints at three South Jersey-area college campuses, most recently Rutgers University School of Business in Camden, New Jersey, where she coordinated the daily operations of its online academic programs.

Prior to her time at Rutgers, Jasmin served as an Adult & Transfer Admissions Recruiter for the Philadelphia campus of Harrisburg University. She got her start in higher education at Camden County College, overseeing the administration of two grants and working as an enrollment services associate. Across her various positions, two things have always remained constant: an unyielding passion for advising students and a keen ability to translate the often complex and complicated world of higher education into an easily understandable path forward for those who might have never before stepped foot on a college campus.

A native of Burlington, New Jersey, McMillon holds a Bachelor of Arts from Howard University in Washington, D.C.

Keath Gerald

ACORN SCHOLAR ENGAGEMENT MANAGER

Keath joined the Forman Acton Foundation as its inaugural Acorn Scholar Engagement Manager in September 2021. He is primarily focused on engaging the Foundation’s Acorn Scholars - those students now using their Acorn Fund account to pay for college - especially those seeking additional support along their post-secondary educational journey. His goal is to mentor these students, help them navigate around any roadblocks in their path, and, ultimately, celebrate with them as they graduate and attain their degrees. Recognizing how challenging a college education can be, he is prepared to offer personalized and meaningful support that is tailor-made to position every Acorn Scholar for optimal success.

Keath is no stranger to New Jersey’s schools. He comes to the Foundation from the Bloomfield School District, where he taught special education. Prior to that, he served as a middle and high school teacher for The High Point School of Bergen County in Lodi, New Jersey. Those formative classroom experiences taught him the value of community partnerships and impactful connections with students. Early in his career, Keath worked as a community educator with the NJ Sharing Network, a nonprofit organization committed to registering organ donors.

A native of Plainfield, New Jersey, Keath is a graduate of William Paterson University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies, with concentrations in psychology and studio arts.
