Forman Youth Board

From its inception, our Foundation has set out to cultivate educated and productive student-citizens with a passion for making a difference in the world. The Forman Youth Board provides students with an opportunity to kickstart that work – right in their hometown community.

Originally organized at the outset of 2018, the Forman Youth Board is an organization open to students in 8th through 12th grade. Students living in Salem with an eye for impact and a desire to positively influence their peers and the greater Salem community are all invited to apply! Initiatives spearheaded by the Youth Board – which, over the years, have included Summer Pizza Fridays, supply drives benefitting Salem schools and college care packages delivered to Acorn Fund account holders – provide members with the chance to identify areas of potential need and develop programs to address those needs.

In addition to its philanthropic efforts, members of the Youth Board collaboratively learn how to get ready for college, prepare for the educational journey and think about career readiness. In addition to these skill-building lessons, students also discuss financial-, educational-, social- and emotional-based training; attend college preparation and support workshops; build strong and stable relationships; and even build up job interview preparation skills.
