Catching Up With Myles Rodgers!

Forman Scholar Myles Rodgers graduated from Rowan College of South Jersey in May 2025 with an associate degree in exercise science. Myles plans to attend Rowan University for the next two years to obtain his Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science. We recently caught up with Myles to learn more about his college experience and his plans for the future.

How did you get involved at Rowan College of South Jersey?

I began my journey at Fairleigh Dickinson University for the fall 2023 semester. At Fairleigh Dickinson, I joined the basketball team right away. When I transferred to Rowan College of South Jersey, I joined the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

How did the Forman Acton Foundation support you throughout your college journey?

The Forman Acton Foundation provided incredible support throughout my college journey. Always having people check in on me and ask me how I’m doing showed that I was genuinely cared for, and it brought me comfort to know that somebody always had my back. For example, when I decided to transfer out of Fairleigh Dickinson, the Foundation helped guide me through that process and supported me in any way they could. This support was invaluable.

What’s your most memorable moment from your college journey?

One of my most memorable moments was graduating from Rowan College of South Jersey alongside my girlfriend, Alaina, who I met in one of my classes. Sharing this milestone with someone who has been a big part of my journey made it even more meaningful. Also, I am proud of many of my academic achievements, including making the President’s List, the Dean’s List, and being a part of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. All of these accomplishments have proven that I am capable when I work hard and stay dedicated.

What’s the greatest lesson you learned in college?

The greatest lesson I learned, and something I wish I knew back during my first semester, is to trust the process and to not let stress take over. It can feel easy to doubt yourself when things get hard or overwhelming, but remaining confident in yourself and being patient goes a long way. I’ve learned that believing in myself through challenges makes a big difference.

Why are organizations such as the Forman Acton Foundation so important?

The Forman Acton Foundation is so important because it gives students hope. The Foundation gives students a strong support system to rely on, and they consistently showed me that I wasn’t alone through my college journey. I am so grateful to the Foundation for believing in me, and I plan to stay involved with the organization as I continue my education at Rowan. Being a Scholar reminds me that with determination and support, I’m capable of achieving great things.
