How did the Forman Acton Foundation support you throughout your college journey?

The Forman Acton Foundation helped me tremendously throughout college. Once I joined the Army, I began receiving tuition assistance, but the Foundation still found meaningful ways to help. They stepped in to cover expenses like rent and school supplies, ensuring that I had everything I needed to stay focused and succeed in school. Their continued support had a significant impact on my journey.

What’s the biggest difference between high school and college?

The biggest difference between high school and college is the level of independence and responsibility. In college, you can make your own decisions and take a big step into the real world. You’re exposed to many different experiences and perspectives that you may not encounter in high school. It’s a time of personal growth and self-discovery.

What’s your most memorable moment from your college journey?

Graduating and being commissioned are the two most memorable moments from my college journey. I say this because these moments symbolized the payoff of years of hard work and dedication. I realized that all the sacrifices and effort I had put in were worth it, and I felt ready to confidently step into the next chapter of my life.

What’s the greatest lesson you learned in college?

One of the most valuable lessons I learned is the importance of networking. If I could go back to my first semester, I would tell myself to start building connections and relationships early on. A strong network becomes especially important as you approach graduation. Having a strong professional network opens doors to opportunities and provides more options when searching for jobs. The relationships you build can truly shape your future.

Why are organizations such as the Forman Acton Foundation so important?

Organizations like the Forman Acton Foundation are incredibly important because they help students achieve their goals and dreams without financial barriers. I am incredibly grateful to be a Forman Scholar. As a member of the Forman family, this opportunity holds even more meaning for me, and I’ve taken the opportunities and support that this Foundation has given me very seriously. The impact is not just financial assistance but a long-term investment in my success.
