How did you stay involved in high school?

In high school, I stayed extremely active. I played field hockey, managed girls basketball, and participated on the spring track and field team. I also was involved in Student Council, Ambassadors, the Academic League and teen pep, as well as with numerous volunteer projects benefitting the local Salem community.

What is your favorite memory from your time in high school?

Definitely winning our field hockey division. I’ve met some of my best friends through the sport, and I’m so grateful to have had the experience of playing on the team.

What are you hoping to gain from the college experience?

I hope to learn a lot about myself from living on my own, navigating a new environment, and making smart and healthy decisions. I’m looking forward to making plenty of new friends, too. My goal is to be just as involved in college as I was in high school. In particular, I’d like to join UD’s tour club, which meets with prospective students and shows them around campus. I’m also thinking of joining Greek life and possibly the dance club as well.

Why are college and the college experience so important?

I feel as though this experience is very important to me because I have worked so hard to get to this point in my life, and I want to do everything possible to make the most of my time on campus. My degree will be the gateway to a career that I know I will enjoy and also be successful in. It’ll also provide me with a path to make a difference in the world by helping those in need who may have gone through a difficult time in their life. I hope that I can use what I’ll learn to improve the lives of those who may be suffering.

How has the Forman Acton Foundation contributed to your growth as a person and as a student?

The Foundation has contributed to many aspects of my life. They’ve supported me through my journey of high school, and I feel as though their support is the best thing I could ever have asked for. Their support has also made the transition to college much less stressful and a lot more exciting. They’ve given me the chance to study at a top-rated school whose kinesiology program is one of the best in the nation. In short, they’ve set me on a path for an incredible future.
