Statement on Office Relocation

To the Foundation community –

After more than seven years at our 205 E. Broadway location, we are disappointed to share that our landlord has terminated our lease effective August 25, and we will be forced to find a new office location in the coming months.

While we had no intention of relocating our offices, the new owner/landlord of Fenwick Plaza recently notified its tenants, including our Foundation, that we would be responsible for performing and paying for all repairs to the property as a condition of renewing our lease. This includes the urgent replacement of the building’s roof. Unfortunately, the cost of the renovation would have directed too many financial resources away from our core mission of supporting the students of Salem City. After we objected to these demands, the landlord informed us that they were no longer willing to renew our lease, which was operating on a month-to-month basis, and provided us with a formal termination letter instructing us to vacate our premises.

Beginning on August 25, the Foundation will operate remotely as we continue our search for a new office location. However, regardless of where our new office location may ultimately settle, our unwavering commitment to Salem City will not be affected during this transition, and our programs and support for the students of Salem City will remain steadfast.

As we approach a new school year, we look forward to attending Back to School nights, planning campus visits with our Forman and Acorn Scholars, and connecting with new students as they plan for their future education. We are excited about the opportunities this transition presents and look forward to sharing future updates as we finalize our new space. In the coming months, we will also be introducing new initiatives and enhanced programming designed to deepen our impact and further support the success of Salem City students. We appreciate your continued support and partnership as we move through this exciting time of growth and change. Stay tuned for more updates and new things to come! Until our new office location is opened, we remain fully accessible by email at info@formanscholars.org, or you may feel free to contact any of our staff members directly.

Thank you for your continued support of our work and belief in the transformative power of education. Together, we’ll continue to make a positive impact on Salem City and beyond.

Gratefully,

The Staff & Trustees of the Forman Acton Foundation
