What about Spelman made you say “yes”?
I chose Spelman College not only because it is ranked as the number one Historically Black College and University (HBCU) but also because of the amazing opportunities and connections that will help me transition into my future career. I said “yes” to Spelman because of its strong academic reputation, professional network and the long-lasting sisterhood that the college fosters.
What is your favorite memory from high school?
I really enjoyed traveling to Barcelona with my IB class. It was an amazing opportunity, especially since I was able to experience it alongside my friends and classmates. Together, we gained an appreciation for other cultures and customs, in addition to breathtaking sights.
What are you hoping to gain from the college experience?
I hope to gain long-lasting friendships and unforgettable memories while growing personally and academically. I want to deepen my understanding of my culture and what it means to be an African American in today’s society. I aim to graduate as a more knowledgeable, confident and resilient version of myself.
How do you plan on making a difference in the world?
I plan to make a difference in the world by uplifting my family, my community and anyone I can reach. As a first-generation college student, I am making a difference by setting a new example for my family. I hope to inspire youth in my community, too, by leading and inspiring them to discover their own potential through dedication and determination. I plan on becoming a lawyer so I can advocate for and help others in any way that I can.
